Surrey women vote for incorporation and name change
At a packed SLCGA AGM on Saturday, 25th November at Walton Heath Golf Club, the Surrey club delegates voted unanimously to incorporate and become Surrey Women's Golf Ltd. They supported the move which will give the organisation a legal footing and offer greater legal protection to all those involved. They also took the landmark decision to change the name to Surrey Women's Golf, moving away from the more outdated term 'ladies'. County Captain Jane Bathurst commented:“As the County body representing female golfers in Surrey, we want to promote inclusivity in our sport and to encourage all women to get involved. It is important to move with the times and to ensure that we appeal to women across the board. We hope that our name change to Surrey Women’s Golf reflects this.”
