Surrey Women's Golf Overview

Who Are We?

The Surrey County Golf Club was formed in 1900 and subsequently became the Surrey Ladies Golf Association in 1929. We now have over 7,000 members from 103 affiliated clubs. In November 2023 we incorporated as Surrey Women's Golf Ltd.

What Do We Do?

  • Provide fun and competitive golf in Surrey for amateur players of all ages and all abilities.
  • Provide a coaching programme to help and encourage talented golfers to reach their potential.
  • Give junior girls an introduction to the game with a structured development programme.
  • Select various teams to represent the County.
  • Work with the men's Surrey County Golf Union to form a partnership for the betterment of the sport within the County.
  • Provide help and support to Clubs in the administration of the CONGU Uniform System of Handicapping.
  • Represent Surrey ladies on England Golf (the national governing body).

Who runs Surrey Women's Golf?

A board of Directors headed by the Captain. Other key roles include:

  • The President
  • Vice-Captain
  • Honorary Treasurer
  • Junior Organiser
  • 7-9 directors in total.

There are also a Junior, Competitions, Teams and Governance committees and an Employed Secretary

How do we fund our activities?

A member of an affiliated club pays a fee to the County (£10)
