Matilde 4th at the English Womens Open Strokeplay Championship
Congratulations to Matilde Santilli (Foxhills) who finished T4th overall at the English Women’s Open Strokeplay Championship with a 72 hole total of 297 (+1). She was also placed 1st in the U18 category.
Of the other Surrey based players, Ellen Yates (West Hill) also recorded a top 10 finish, just one shot behind Matilde, on 298 (+2) in a tie for 7th position. Millie Cottrell of Wentworth finished T11th on +4. Millie had an amazing start to her round on day 2 of the Championship when she had an eagle on the 1st, an eagle on the 4th and her first hole in one on the 8th! Hyunji Kim of Royal Wimbledon finished on +12 and Ellie Monk of Sunningdale on +17.
A strong field of 125 players from more than 20 different countries took part in the Championship which was hosted by Stoneham Golf Club in Hampshire 18th-20th June..
