A fantastic start to Surrey's County Week campaign as they secured a 4-1 win against Sussex. Well played team!
Two strong wins by Ava & Lottie in the second foursomes match and Issy in the second singles helped to calm supporters' nerves. Herry and Hyunji were up against the very experienced Karen Sykes and her partner Maddy Harris. They lost 3&2 in the first foursomes match. This left Annabel and Emily Peaford out on the course, battling closely fought singles matches. Annabel was up for most of her match although her opponent, Darci Lewis-Bradbury fought hard to get back to just 1 down. However, Annabel held on and secured victory on the 18th. Meanwhile, Emily was having a close tussle with Chloe Briance. She was one down after 16 holes but managed to get back to all square on the 18th tee. With great determination, she won the 18th and claimed victory by one hole.
Congratulations to all the players, a great result. Surrey now rest till tomorrow morning when they will take on Hampshire, teeing off at 8am. Go Pinkies!
