We always knew Lottie Woad was destined for great things and so it is proving. Lottie claimed her first Ladies' European Tour win while still the World No. 1 Amateur, becoming The KPMG Women's Irish Open Champion at Carton House, County KIldare on Sunday, 6th July.
Lottie shot a fantastic four-under final-round of 69 to claim her first LET title in dominant fashion, six shots ahead of Sweden's Madelene Sangstrom. As she is still an amateur, Lottie does not receive any prize money, with the 67,500 euro (£58,000) winner's cheque going to Sagstrom.
Lottie rose to the top of the leaderboard in windy conditions on Friday, extending her lead to seven strokes in Saturday's third round. She made six birdies and two bogeys on Sunday to cruise home to victory. What a fantastic performance!
Lottie, who is 21, broke 70 in all four rounds and becomes the first non-professional to win on the Ladies European Tour since Czech player Jana Melichova at the 2022 Czech Ladies Open. She carded just three bogeys all week in a hugely impressive performance in Ireland.
We are all so proud of Lottie, who started her golf at Farnham Golf Club and played for the Surrey County team. What a talent, well done Lottie!
